Dia

The Browser Company's AI browser — a chat bar that reads your tabs and writes in context.

Visit Dia Free (invite-based rollout, opening wider through 2026)

What is Dia?

Dia (from the makers of Arc) replaces the traditional address bar with a chat interface that already knows what's open in your tabs. Ask it to compare, summarise, or write using the context of your browsing session — no copy-pasting URLs into a chatbot.

Dia grew out of Arc's design language but starts from a different premise: the chat box is the browser, not a feature bolted onto one. It reads your open tabs, history, and (with permission) email to answer questions in context — "what did that article say about pricing" works without re-finding the article. The Browser Company shifted its focus from Arc to Dia through 2025–2026.

Key features

  • Chat bar with full open-tab context
  • "Skills" — reusable saved prompts tied to specific sites
  • History and email-aware answers (opt-in)
  • Clean, Arc-style tab and workspace design
  • Mac-first, Windows in progress

Pros

  • Most naturally "chat-first" browsing feel of the three
  • Skills feature genuinely saves repeated prompt-writing
  • Design quality carries over from Arc's best ideas

Cons

  • Smaller company, less long-term guarantee than OpenAI or Perplexity
  • Windows version lags behind Mac
  • No dedicated agent mode yet — reads and writes, doesn't click for you
