An AI wearable is a small device — typically a pendant, pin, or clip — that passively records ambient audio throughout the day and uses AI to transcribe and organise it into summaries, action items, and searchable notes. The Limitless pendant is the best-known example. Unlike a voice memo app, which requires deliberately hitting record, an AI wearable captures by default, which is exactly what makes it useful for recall and exactly what raises real consent and privacy questions — everyone near the wearer is being recorded, not just the person wearing it. Recording-consent laws vary by state and country, and most predate this device category entirely.
