Julius AI
Upload a spreadsheet, ask a question in plain English, get a chart and the answer — no formulas.
What is Julius AI?
Julius is an AI data analyst you chat with. Upload a CSV or spreadsheet, ask a question the way you'd ask a colleague, and it writes and runs the analysis code, then returns a chart and a plain-English explanation — no pivot tables or formulas required.
Julius runs on top of code-execution models (GPT and Claude, depending on the task) but hides the code by default — you see the question, the chart, and the explanation, with the underlying Python available if you want to check its work. It has become a favourite of analysts, students, and small business owners who know what question they want answered but not how to write the query for it.
Key features
- Chat with your spreadsheet or CSV in plain English
- Auto-generated charts and visualisations
- Shows underlying Python code on request
- Connects to Google Sheets
- Handles multi-file joins and comparisons
Pros
- Removes the "I know what I want, not how to query it" barrier
- Charts are genuinely presentation-ready, not just quick plots
- Free tier is enough to try it properly before paying
Cons
- Struggles with very large files (six-figure row counts slow it down)
- Occasionally mis-reads messy column headers — check its assumptions
- Not a replacement for a real BI tool at enterprise scale
